Cairo High School student killed in car crash

GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A Cairo High school student was killed Sunday morning in a crash not far from his Grady County home.

State Troopers tell us 16-year old Brandon Hartley hit a tree after coming around a curve on Elkins road.

They say his Dodge Charger was engulfed in flames when they arrived on scene around 4:00 a.m.

He was roughly a mile from his home on Old Egg road. Troopers say the wet roads may have played a factor in the wreck.

Hartley was a junior at CHS.
