ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State and Savannah State renewed their rivalry after a six year absence last year in Waycross.
Saturday, these two teams return their rivalry to Macon for the Music City Classic.
The Albany State Rams and Savannah State play in Macon for the first time in seven years.
It is the season opener for both teams.
The first game will also be a big test for the Rams.
The division one Tigers return 16 starters against an Albany State offense that starts the season with two new starting offensive linemen and new backs.
Head coach Mike White believes the ground game is ready for the challenge Saturday.
Head coach Mike White said. "The quarterback, some of the running backs and the line has done a pretty good job. Guys really are not looking back. They are looking forward and they are still very confident."
Quarterback Stanley Jennings said. "I am pretty confident about coming back to the conference. This is one of my first times. I am pretty excited."
ASU has won 14 straight from the Tigers.
Game time is 5:00 Saturday at Henderson Stadium in Macon.
