ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One week after a disabled man could not get into the Bill Cosby show, Albany Civic Center leaders have a plan to avoid a similar problem this weekend.
The Ricky Smiley show is expected to draw a big crowd Saturday. Civic center leaders will set up a barrier to keep cars out of this area.
Last Friday, an illegally parked car blocked the only handicapped ramp into the upper level of the civic center.
A double amputee couldn't get in, and staff initially wouldn't let him into the ground level.
They have been instructed to make sure this entrance is open to anyone who needs special accommodations.
