ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Many people are reaching out to an Albany charity that plans to help Irene victims in the Bahamas.

Mission Change is asking for supplies and monetary donations. People can drop off items such as five gallon buckets used for retrieving water out of the of cisterns, ropes, and tarps at several locations in town. What they need most is money.

People have already donated about $2,000.

"It's been awesome. We have a lot of people willing to give," said LaDonna Urick, with Mission Change. "We know there are people out there who want to do something but don't know how to get involved. This is their chance. We've had churches and organizations give us items we need."

They hope to deliver items next week. For people interested in donating items, stop by the following locations:

Flint Community Bank at: 2910 Meredyth Drive

Austin's Barbeque and Oyster Bar at: 2820 Meredyth Drive

Al Hatcher's State Farm office at 2801 Old Dawson Road in the TJ Max Shopping Center
