An Albany church known for making hit movies is premiering its latest film Friday night at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.

More than 3500 people are expected to pack the historic Fox for the premiere of Sherwood Baptist Church's movie "Courageous."

This is the same church ministry that produced hit films "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof."

"Courageous" is the church's biggest film project with a million dollar budget.

It was filmed in and around Albany using mostly volunteer church members as actors and production crew, and it has a Christian message.

Sherwood Baptist Church Executive Pastor Jim McBride said "The response has been overwhelming. In our country 36 percent of the children live in a home without a father. So this movie is really a re-awakening for fatherhood."

Alex and Stephen Kendrick wrote, produced, and directed "Courageous."

The film will open on a thousand screens around the country September 30th.

Days later, it will open in Canada, South Africa,  and Nigeria.
