Metal thieves hit another east Albany church, gutting its air conditioner.

It happened at Holy Disciples Outreach Motorcycle Ministry on East Clark Avenue, even though the unit is fenced in, and two heavy chains and locks secure the gate.

The thief obviously jumped the fence, gutted the unit, dumped the trash out of their city garbage can, put the stolen metal in it, and wheeled it away.

It's the second time in three months the AC unit has been stripped on top of two break-ins at the church building.

"So we now got to go out and price some more units, and see how much it will cost. At least gong to cost three to four thousand probably to get it fixed back up," said Church Treasurer James Harris.

Church leaders say they may move the air conditioner to the side of the church so it can be seen from the street.
