Burned historic home gets repairs

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta Historic Preservation Commission has decided to repair the city's oldest house that burned back in January.

Crews demolished charred portions of the J.T. Roberts House.

Lots of work has to be done including rebuilding the roof, repairing the framing, and replacing windows and doors.

It was severely damaged by fire on January 26th that firefighters believe was caused by an electrical short.

The Roberts House was built in 1845.
