BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Decatur County Volunteer Fire Stations are taking fundraising to the next gear.

On September 10th, the Decatur County Firefighters Association will host its first Drag Boat Race.

All proceeds will benefit volunteer firefighters. Boaters will reach speeds of 125 miles per hour.

About 100 boats are expected to participate. "The race is going to be held at the Bainbridge Boat Basin on the Flint River. The race will start at the Bypass bridge," said Volunteer Firefighter Alan Davis.
