ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A former south Georgia Police officer charged in string of burglaries won't spend time in prison.

John Harrison was an officer with Bainbridge Public Safety when he was arrested in January and charged with three burglaries.

Harrison agreed to plead guilty to two counts of violation of oath of office and obstruction of an officer.

He was sentenced to 10 years probation and fined $4,000. He can no longer work as a law enforcement officer in Georgia.
