DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -

A copper thief hit businesses in downtown Douglas last night.

Police found 52-year old Marvin Taylor in an alley behind Norris Shoe Store a little after 10:15PM last night.

Officers did some checking and found air conditioning units damaged and copper wire stolen from three nearby businesses, Windi's Bridal Boutique, Muah Consignment, and Carter Thompson incorporated.

They found five more damaged units across the street in the 100 block of South Madison Avenue.

Taylor is charged with eight counts of theft by taking, eight counts of criminal damage to property, and one count of loitering.
