A top five ranking and the preseason pick to the win the ACC certainly has caused plenty of excitement for the Florida State football team this season. The question in Tallahassee now is will this be the Seminoles last season in the ACC.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles took a break from practice for fan day on Sunday. The college football world expects to see Texas A&M vote to leave the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference next year. If that happens, the SEC would then have 13 schools conventional wisdom is the SEC would look to add one or three more schools to give it an even number.
According to media reports, Florida State is one of the schools being mentioned as a target for SEC expansion.
FSU officials say they have not had any talks about joining the SEC and Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher says the focus for him right now is getting ready for their first game in three weeks.
Fisher said "It's not a distraction because we're getting prepared for ULM and going for a game. We just live in the now, we don't worry about the future we line in the now."
Wide receiver Bert Reed said "It's irrelevant, we're in the ACC. We are going to do our best in the ACC and it's an irrelevant question where we're at because we're in the ACC right now. That's our goal to win the ACC championship."
FSU will open the season at home September 3rd against Louisiana Monroe.
