ASHBURN, GA (WALB) - Turner County expects to be better this year but will they be good enough in the toughest region in Class A is the big question in Ashburn this summer.
Turner County has nine starters back on both offense and defense.
Head coach Erik Soliday says the Rebels are loaded at the skill positions.
Quarterback Luke Soliday returns along with receivers DeMarcus Daniels and Nate Martin and running back Shaquille Foster.
All of the linebackers including Travis Harris are back on defense.
Turner County will need all of that talent in a region that is home to the last two Class A state champions.
Erik Soliday said. "You always are going to have Charlton, Clinch and Wilcox who are very good and they are very good. It seems like the rest of us have been battling for that next spot. That is probably the way it is still going to be this year. Those are still probably the top three teams and the rest of us are still going to battle for that fourth spot and see who can get it."
Turner County opens the season August 26th against Crisp County.
