ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The media and analysts aren't expecting Auburn to repeat as national champions this season.
Auburn fans will always believe their Tigers are the team to beat.
Former Auburn quarterback Ben Leard told the Southwest Georgia Auburn Club Thursday night he believes Tigers may be young but they are good enough to prove the experts wrong.
The one thing that worries Leard is the schedule with road games at South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas and Georgia.
Leard believes youth will be in Auburn's favor with their schedule since the young Tigers know first hand what it takes to win a national championship.
Ben Leard said. "That is how they are coaching them right. They were good at one point. They have gotten to see what great looks like. That is the template that this coaching staff and these players are using right now leading into 2011."
The Southwest Georgia Auburn Club presented Lillian Harvey with the Cleve Wester Scholarship.
Lillian is graduate of Baconton Charter School and is the first recipient of the Cleve Wester Schlolarship.
