An Albany man is named a "Lifetime Honorary Member of the Georgia Sheriff's Association."

80 year old Holman Holt was presented the honor today by Dougherty County Sheriff Kevin Sproul, for his many years of support for the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes.

A retired career Air Force serviceman, Holt said the Sheriffs' Youth Homes give vital help to dependent, abandoned, and neglected young people.

I like their organization.  They are very supportive and they do a great job.

Mr. Holt has been giving for several years now.  Not only giving money but actually time and service to the youth home.

The Georgia Sheriffs' Association has sponsored the youth home since 1960.  There are currently five, including the Boys Ranch in Hahira.
