SGA looking to stay above the rest

Posted: Updated:

The South Georgia Academy Warriors have some unfinished business to attend to after a 1 point loss in the GISA state semifinal last season.  The Warriors will look for its 3rd straight region 2-AA championship but they'll have to do so without a majority of its starters from last year.

The Warriors will however bring back All-State quarterback Dillon Driver and his most effective weapon at receiver Cory Evans. All-State linebacker Van Harrell will look to make his presence felt at offensive tackle as well. Head coach David Bell says he knows they'll be some growing pains but his young guys are improving every day.

Bell said "We have the talent we're just young and the young guys have really brought it on and I'm very proud of them."

Driver said "We got a lot of heart and we work hard at it. I think they have a lot of effort they put in work everyday. I think we'll be fine."

Harrell "We're getting better each and every day. They've worked hard just as all the other teams we've had in the past."

SGA will host Robert Toombs on the August 19th.
