PELHAM, GA (WALB) - Pelham High has turned to one of the top coaches in the Sunshine State to get the Hornets back in the win column.
Former Madison County High coach Frankie Carroll is ready for his first season with the Hornets.
Carroll inherits a Pelham program that has had three winless seasons in the last five years.
The Hornets plan to start the season with Cody Godwin at quarterback and Brandon Smith, Denzel Jackson and Brandon Boston ready to carry the football.
The defense will be led by Farentino Brown, Stephen Mango and Lorenzo Jackson.
The first year coach has been pleased with the attitude and work his players have put in this summer and hopes to see that work pay off for them early in the season.
Frankie CCarroll said. "Not necessarily winning a game but just having success. Winning is going to help naturally. Having success and letting them see that what we are doing works. That is going to be the key thing."
Pelham opens the season on August 19th against Baconton Charter. The game will be played in Camilla.
