THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Thomasville High School softball team opened its season on a new diamond against Echols County.
In honor of the new field, the school superintendent threw out the first pitch to the principal. Head Coach Ron O'Quinn says it feels great to have a field of their own.
"We've been playing games on a baseball field so now we have a home and a locker room with all the amenities I should say around that is ours, that belongs to us."
The Lady Bulldogs finished 3rd in the region last year. Coach O'Quinn says this year they are shooting for the region championship.
