Trojans look to turn things around

Dougherty High head football coach Jesse Hicks says its time to bring the East side back as the Trojans will look for its 1st playoff birth since 2008.  The Trojans went winless in the region last season but coach Hicks says the offensive line will be the anchor behind changing that with Dominique Bryant, Brain Bailey and Cameron Williams.

Offensively, freshman Willie Jones is the front runner to start at qb with Alfred Brown pushing for a starting spot as well.  Either way coach Hicks says its time for Trojan football to make the East side football giants once again.

Hicks said "Even when I was in school was at Albany State everybody knew the East side had the best players. I still feel that we still got it, we just have to be able to bring that back. Some of the problems we've had over here on the East side can be solved by us having a successful season."

Cameron Williams said "They are all on that side of town, we're the only team over here. We have to make sure that we do everything we have to do to make sure the East side brings the pride back."

Trojans open the season against Albany High on the 27th at Hugh Mills stadium.
