Cook frying up region title repeat

Cook High won the region 1-AA title last year but many of the players responsible for that championship are gone.  The Panthers return just three starters on both sides of the football.  Fortunately one of them is quarterback Zach Folsom.  The all-state quarterback threw for more than 2,400 yards last year as a junior.

Just who Folsom will throw and hand off to will be a question mark.  Travin Henry was an all region defensive end last year who will line up at receiver this year along with Devonte Brown.

Head coach Ken Cofer says receivers in the Hornet offense carry the football just as much as they catch it.  The big concern for the Hornets is protecting their all-state quarterback.\

Cofer said "You can have the best quarterback in the world but if you can't protect him you are in trouble, that is definitely what we have to work on this whole time. That is what we have been doing the whole summer and right now."

Cook High knocked off Colquitt County in last year's season opener in Moultrie.  The Packers get a rematch on August 19th at the Hog Pen.
