ATHENS, GA (WALB) - One of the criticisms of the Georgia football team in the last two years has been the strength of the team.
After last year's 6-7 season, head coach Mark Richt brought in Joe Tereshinski, Jr. to serve as the team's new strength coach.
Tereshinksi brought in a new workout program and he also monitored what the players were eating away from the weight room.
The players say the new workouts were intense and they are anxious to see the difference in the new strength program on the field this fall.
Center Ben Jones said. "In the offseason we hit the weights hard. so, we really bulked up. they have a nutritionist for us now. we have leaned down but we have definitely gained a couple of pounds."
Georgia opens the season September 3rd against Boise State in the Georgia Dome.
