Police in Moultrie are hoping to send a message to thieves. If you steal anything, even a newspaper, you will be punished.
Ronnie Lee Wright was arrested and charged with Theft by Taking after an officer spotted him taking the newspaper left by the front door of the Moultrie Police Department.
For the past few weeks, several newspapers had been stolen from the department so an officer was stationed across the street to watch for the crook.
Wright was booked into the Colquitt County Jail and the newspaper was placed into evidence at the Moultrie Police Department.
