Blue Devils relying on what they do best

Posted: Updated:

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -The Tift County Blue Devils were the odd team out in region 1-AAAAA last year.

The Blue Devils were the one team in the five team region that didn't make the state playoffs.

Head coach Jay Walls wants to change that this year.

Walls has made changes to his coaching staff.

He has brought in former Albany High and Sherwood Christian head coach Reggie Mitchell to run the defense.

Scott Roberts is now the offensive coordinator.

The Blue Devils will return plenty of skill on the offense with sophomore quarterback Tadric Jackson, Rashard Daniels and a talented receiving corps.

Jay Walls said. "We're very excited because that's what we do and for our kids what we have as far as players it fits well. One of our strengths is our wide receivers all those guys are back with the exception of 2 seniors and all these guys have played alot."

Rashad Daniels said. "We hope to make it to the playoffs this year because we didn't make it last year."

Tift County will host Fitzgerald High on August 19th.
