Albany city commissioners want you and city employees to understand the city's take home vehicle policy.

Commissioner Tommy Postell says some workers abused the policy in the past.

He wants to make sure new GPS monitoring systems are doing their job.

Since gas is so expensive he wants to make sure workers who do take their vehicles home stay within recommended boundaries.

"We want the public to know there are certain vehicle that are eligible to be taken home and there are certain people that take these. But if they feel they take these vehicles as being misused we want them to report it," said City Commissioner Tommy Postell.

If you'd like to read the policy for yourself, it starts on PAGE 23 of this PDF file.
