Most airlines have basically still been charging passengers for those taxes and pocketing the money, but now some of those travelers will get refunds.

Delta Air Lines will refund the tax amount. That will cover passengers who booked flights with ASA from Southwest Georgia Regional Airport. The refunds will apply to anyone who bought their ticket before the FAA shutdown began on July 23, but who traveled after that day.

Delta is waiting for guidance from the IRS about how to handle the refunds.
