Valdosta bank bandits on the run

Three armed robbers are on the run after firing shots inside a Valdosta bank. The suspects walked into the Certus Bank around lunch time, fired shots into the ceiling and ordered everyone to get down.

Once they got the money, they took off in a white four door car.

"They did demand money," said Valdosta Police Capt. Bobbi McGraw. "One of the suspects leaped over the counter."

Police believe two rounds were fired. Shell casings were found, but no weapons. The bank is on Norman Drive.

Police say employees and customers were inside at the time of the robbery. Sam's Club is right next door and the whole incident and stunned the store's employees.

"That's scary because that could've been Sam's club they were shooting in," said Arkeria Arnold.

"I was out here but I didn't hear no shots," said Corey Pegues.  "It was like 50 police out here."

"The economy is bad that's people are doing all this crazy stuff," said Arnold.

Police don't have a good description of the bank robbers because they were completely covered but they do believe they left in a white four door car. And they do believe the robbers are white.

"There were some slivers of skin that we could see around the neck area, the face and scalp area," said Capt. McGraw.  "The suspects are believed to be Caucasian."

"That's about the only good thing is that no one got hurt," said Pegues.

Police have issued look-outs. They're advising banks to take precautions in case these robbers strike again. Witness say the license plate has some gold or yellow on it.

If you were in the area around lunch time police urge you to call them.
