FT. GAINES, GA (WALB) – A Clay County man is in jail charged with murdering his mother over the weekend.
Deputies arrested Bernard Spann Saturday at a home on Bradley Street in Ft. Gaines.
Investigators say he shot 50-year-old Annie Belle Spann around 1 a-am. Her body was found in the doorway of her home.
Spann is also accused of shooting a neighbor in the thigh.
The GBI is investigating and has not released a motive.
