Wildcats loaded but concerned

Posted: Updated:

CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - The Westwood Wildcats return most of last year's state championship team.

Head coach Ross Worsham says the few areas where the Wildcats lost players are a question
mark heading into the season.

The Wildcats offense will be lead by quarterback Mason Worsham.

Joining the Wildcats will be transfer Caleb Morrell.

Morrell played quarterback at Pelham.

Coach Worsham says Morrell will line up everywhere in a skill position for the Wildcats this season.

The big question mark is up front according to Worsham.

The Wildcats lost linemen Carlton Brooks and Taylor Bentley.

Coach Worsham believes Clayton Lamar and Trent Brown are ready to anchor the front for the Wildcats.

The coach knows the Wildcats have be tough up front because repeating as state champions is even tougher.

Ross Worsham said. "We have got to stay hungry and motivated. Keep working hard because we will have a big bullseye on our back this year."

Senior linebacker Daniel Hays said. "We have got to work hard. We have got to have good team spirit and everything. Know what we are getting into."

Westwood opens the season August 25th at home against Southwest Georgia Academy
