Albany Police are looking for a bold thief who held up a fast food restaurant just after it opened Monday morning.

Employees at the Arby's on North Slappey told police a man armed with a handgun and wearing a mask entered the restaurant and demanded money.

After he got money from the register, the gunman ran out and jumped into a red truck or SUV waiting in the alley.

Police warn businesses not to let their guard down during daylight hours.

"Everyone needs to just maintain and stay on their guard at all times no matter if its early in the morning when you're just opening or late at night as you're just closing. You need to be on guard and watchful of any individuals that seem suspicious when they come into the business," said Phyllis Banks, Albany Police media manager.

Police are working to get surveillance video from the restaurant's security cameras.

They say better surveillance equipment at many businesses is helping them catch more robbers.
