Back to school businesses experience last minute rush

Posted: Updated:

ALBANY, GA - Thousands of Dougherty County students go back to school Monday, but some may still be without supplies.

Many south Georgia businesses experienced the last minute back to school rush this weekend. Several stores are still running specials on items like pencils, paper, and backpacks.

The manager of a Family Dollar in Albany says she expects to see parents as late as tomorrow morning. "Friday and Saturday was really busy with a lot of people coming in buying lots of last minute items cause school starts tomorrow. And I'm sure there will be an influx of people today," said Manager Dorice Revill.

Dougherty County begins it's school year Monday morning. Most systems will be back in session by next Monday.
