It's the final weekend before the start of high school football practices and also time for the Tift Regional Medical Center's 5th annual men's event and coaches preview. Head coaches from Tift County, Tiftarea, Worth County, Turner County, Fitzgerald, Irwin County and Coffee County all talked about their upcoming seasons.
The event was free to the public who inquired about specific personnel changes and the different schemes the teams will implement in this upcoming season. Some coaches even had a little fun with the crowd about expectations for next year.
Turner County head coach Erik Soliday said "We got 9 back on each side of the ball, we got 9 back on offense, we got 9 back on defense. U might think that sounds pretty good but we really weren't very good a year ago. So I don't know how great that really is to have that many back."
Tiftarea head coach Marvin Barton said "We grew so quick that we bounced to triple A and it really put our seniors at a disadvantage because in double A we were really really strong and now we're one of the smaller triple A schools so we're having to crawl before we walk."
