Summer break officially ends Monday for thousands of Dougherty County students who will head back to school for the first day of class.

It's another tough year for many parents who are faced yet again with the lack of a sales tax holiday.

Still they're hitting the stores stocking up on supplies. The Albany Mall parking lot was packed this afternoon.

Shoppers came from all over Southwest Georgia to buy their back to school gear. Stores tried to fill in the tax free holiday gap with special discounts.

Parents we talk to didn't end up paying less, but paying more.  However, to some students we talked to it's not about things, there just ready to get back in the classroom.
