National Night Out attracts hundreds

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of kids and their parents enjoyed a huge back to school bash with the cops Thursday.

The Dougherty County Police Department, sheriff's office, and school police hosted a national night out celebration at Radium Springs Middle School.

They gave away school supplies, backpacks, bikes and more. Kids also got to enjoy face painting, bouncy houses and free food.

This is the fourth year the Dougherty County Police Department has hosted the event.

Officers wanted to make sure they reached out to the community before school starts next week.
