
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State head coach David Dean has named Andy Richman to coach the offensive line.
Richman was the offensive line quality control coach at Wisconsin.
He will succeed David Elsenrath who is now working for a sporting goods company.
Graduate assistant Lance Fendley will coach running backs this season and Dean will move back to coaching receivers.
Fendley takes the spot held by receivers coach Tyler Aurandt.
Aurandt is now the offensive coordinator at Grayson High in north Georgia.
In other news, The Valdosta State Blazers are picked to finish third in the Gulf South Conference this year.
The Blazers didn't get one first place vote.
Delta State edges out North Alabama to win the conference title in voting done by the Gulf South coaches.
Delta State had 14 points, UNA finished with 12, VSU had 11, West Alabama was fourth with 9 and West Georgia got four points.
There will be only five schools competing for the Gulf South title this year after six Arkansas schools left to form a new conference.
The Arkansas schools will play GSC schools this year.
