ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Win- loss records are thrown out the window when tournament time arrives.
Post 30 is hosting the state tournament and head coach Earl Walker believes that will be a big advantage for his team.
The summer season did not get off to a good start for Post 30 which is the number two seed in the south behind Leesburg Post 182.
Walker and his assistant coach Brett Freeman say the seeding may be a bit misleading for his team which he says has made vast improvement at the plate over the summer season.
Assistant coach Brett Freeman said. "We have got to a better job of pitching and playing defense. The hitting is there. Those guys have hit their stride. We just need the pitchers to hit their stride and play some solid defense behind them."
The state American Legion baseball tournament starts Friday at Darton College.
The Friday schedule is:
1:00pm Leesburg Post 182 vs Loganville
4:00pm Conyers vs Alpharetta
7:00pm Albany Post 30 vs Rockdale Co.
