HOOVER, AL (WALB) - Georgia head coach Mark Richt says there is nothing but excitement with his Bulldog football team as they prepare to start the 2011 college football season.
Richt's job status was one of the big questions he faced during his SEC Media Days appearance after the Bulldogs suffered their first losing season in his tenure.
After winning ten or more games in six of his first eight seasons, Georgia has lost 12 games in the last two years.
Richt says there is no doom and gloom in Athens this summer.
Instead there is nothing but excitement with Georgia opening the season against preseason top ten Boise State followed by the SEC opener against rival South Carolina.
Mark Richt said. "To play a game against a team that could certainly beat your tail gets your attention and also a team that is highly respected across the country is a great way to give yourself an opportunity to get back in a positive light the way the country sees you."
Georgia will open the season September 3rd at 8:00 p.m. against Boise State.
The game will be played at the Georgia Dome.
