ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The state American Legion baseball tournament starts on Friday at Darton College.Post 182 has watched mother nature rain out their last three games.

Leesburg Post 182 has their sights on winning that state title but their head coach hopes too much rest will not hurt their championship bid.

With the tough competition, Post 182 head coach Larry Cook wishes is worried the time off could have an impact on his team.

That is why the coach has toughened up practices this week to shake the rust, if there is any, off his team.

Head coach Larry Cook said. "We had a good practice just the other day with some live pitching let our pitchers see some hitting in real time situations and they looked good we looked good. We think we'll get them ready by this weekend."

Infielder Ryan Hickox said. "We got a good chemistry of players and such. If we just pull it together and get some good pitching we can take it."

The state American Legion baseball tournament has been moved to Darton College and starts Friday.
