Hurricanes land DI point guard

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Georgia Southwestern returning the Peach Belt Conference player and freshman of the year from this season's 20 win team.

Head coach Mike Leeder looking to improve the roster and he has done that on the recruiting trail this spring.

The Hurricanes have signed 6'10" center Milos Kleut who played at Lipscomb University.

Last week, point guard Marlon Rivera out of Florida Gulf Coast signed to play at GSW.

Mike Leeder says the two DI transfers will be counted on heavily to help GSW repeat as Peach Belt western division champions.

The coach also believes the two new Canes will fit it with returning stars Phillip Brown, Colin Slotter and Evan Mobley.

Mike Leeder said. "I think anytime you are going to have success in Division II, you have got to have a mix of guys. You have got to have guys who are high school guys that you bring up through the ranks but you are going to have to mix in some experience guys. These two guys anticipate taking up big minutes and being a big piece if we are going to continue to have some success."

Mike Leeder said former Westover star Ian Andre will see action next season.

Andre took a redshirt this season due to a shoulder injury.
