Teachers across southwest Georgia are becoming the students.

Educators gathered at Albany State University today for an Educators Summit sponsored by A.S.U. College of Education.

The event was a professional development opportunity for school administrators and educators in reading, mathematics and science.

Twenty-four teachers across grade levels, will participate in mentor sessions and enroll in a graduate level course at A.S.U.

Educators will learn how to be better prepared to plan and implement instruction.

"It is like they are teaching more so just content, just driving content and teaching for the quote on quote test. But we have to move away from that and make sure we are teaching the relevancy behind the content because if they learn that, then everything else will come natural," says Angela Wiley, Westover High School Biology Teacher.

This program is funded by the teacher quality grant through Georgia's department of education.
