Today is a perfect day to pull out those skates and head to Stardust Skate Center. They've teamed up with River Road Church of Christ to host the 2nd Skate N' Donate Food Drive!
All items collected will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of South Georgia. Throughout the year, they supply food to more than 300 nonprofit groups across south Georgia.
The non-perishable food donations brought in will help battered women and homeless shelters among other programs. With the nation's unemployment rate standing tall at 9.2, food banks are being used more now than ever before.
Last year they collected around 900 pounds of food for Skate N' Donate, and the goal for this year is 3,000.
The food drive starts tonight at 6pm and ends at 9.
