While we're grateful for recent rain, it's revived the mosquito population.
Don't forget to protect yourself because mosquitoes do carry dangerous illnesses.
There've not been any reports of West Nile or other illnesses in this part of the state this year, but don't let your guard down.
"If it's something you have to have like a dog's bowl of water that kind of thing make sure you're emptying it periodically, if you have kids' swimming pools, buckets make sure you're emptying those," said Courtney Sheeley, South Health District Public Information Officer.
You can also put insecticides in your yard if you have standing water, it'll help control the mosquito population.
