Bank of America may owe you money. If you paid overdraft fees during January 1, 2001 through May 24, 2011, there could be a check with your name on it. They're shelling out $410 million to their customers because of overdraft fees.
The lawsuit is dealing with the way BOA posted debit card transactions to your account, and the effect the posting order had on the number of overdraft fees you were charged.
If the court approves the settlement, the part you're owed will be sent to your checking or savings account.
In order to be a part of the settlement, you must have had a checking or savings account and debit card with the bank. If you're involved in the settlement you'll get a letter in the mail explaining.
If you've already switched away from Bank of America, it'll come in the form of a check to your home.
You don't have to agree to these terms. However, you must inform the court in writing by October 3, 2011.
