VSU offensive line ready to lead this season

Posted: Updated:

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - This is the time of the year when college football coaching staffs usually start planning for the coming season.

VSU head coach David Dean though is scrambling to fill two openings on his coaching staff.

Within the last two weeks, offensive line coach David Elsenrath left for a job with a sporting goods company.

Receivers coach Tyler Aurandt has become the offensive coordinator at Grayson High.

A VSU spokesman says coach Dean is already interviewing candidates and wants to fill those openings as soon as possible.

Despite losing their coach, the VSU offensive line is ready to lead with all five starters returning.

VSU offensive lineman Cam Short said. "We have an all group of juniors coming up. We have been together four years. We are just really productive in the spring. We have got a really bright future and hopefully we can carry the team."

The VSU 7 on 7 passing camp is Saturday.
