Darton women's head basketball head coach Lea Henry had a vision in 1985 of starting a camp to help young boys and girls take their games to new levels and 26 years later she's still at it. Over 100 kids came out to spice up their skills on the hardwood at Deerfield-Windsor. They were taught everything from the fundamentals to sportsmanship of course.
Henry says this year was even better because she didn't have to travel to Albany since she now works here and that she enjoys those faces that come back year to year as well as the new ones.
Henry said "The neatest part about the camp is watching the kids comeback and how much they've improved. How much they've matured as individuals. Just to see them have a good time. It provides a good experience for the kids because there is quality teaching going on but at the same time there is a lot of fun."
This year's camp was called the "Camp of Champs"
