An Albany business owner helps children learn to love reading through a summer reading program.

This is the 13th year that Shirley Litman of J-L Litman Memorial Funeral Service has sponsored a summer reading program for kids.

Dougherty County School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree read to the dozens of children there today.

Litman says teaching kids to enjoy reading helps them be successful in school and life.  The kids agree it's fun.

9 year old Jordan Thomas said "I think reading is a great thing to do, because you can know the words that you want to know."

8 year old Nadia Qualms said "You learn new things to read in books."

Litman hosts her summer reading program on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at her business.
