VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A suspected robber from Valdosta is in critical condition at a Tallahassee hospital after his accomplice shot him.

Police say around 10:30 Wednesday night two men knocked on the door of this apartment at Greenwood Apartments.

Charles Williams and his brother Christopher were inside.

When one of them opened the door, the men pushed their way in.

A fight broke out. Police say one of the home invaders shot the other.

They're not sure if he did it on purpose or if it was an accident.

"We're not releasing his name at the present time because this is an ongoing investigation," said Valdosta Police Capt. Bobbi McGraw. "Our detectives have a person of interest in this and they're really close to making something happen in this case."

Police won't say where the man was shot.

They don't think the robbers knew the victims.
