CRISP COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A two-year-old boy who nearly drowned in Crisp County Sunday is recovering and is expected to be okay.

Sawyer Lee's family says he slipped out a back door of a playroom and fell into his grandparents' pool.

They found him floating in the water and he was rushed to the hospital.

His father Keith Lee says it was a freak accident.

"We saw on the news, you know, 'Two-Year-Old Drowns,' and we were like 'How do you let your toddler drown? How is that possible?' We were those evil people that used to feel that way and now we realize, it happens. And we know that people are going to have the same feelings about us," says Lee.

Sawyer's mom and uncle performed C-P-R on him until E-M-S arrived.

Keith Lee says the family is going to educate others about proper pool safety once Sawyer heals.
