The Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base is under new leadership tonight.
In a very hot change of command ceremony this morning, Major General James A . Kessler handed over command to Major General Charles Hudson.
Two people were overcome by the heat at the ceremony. A marine and a young girl were given an I-V and treated by emergency workers who were there.
The outgoing Kessler says he's really going to miss the people in the community. Incoming Major Hudson has pledged his full support to the marines, and the surrounding area.
"We support the war fighter and all Marine's in harm's way," said MCLB incoming Major General Chuck Hudson.
"The reception that my wife Debbie and I received, after moving here was unique. It was a very warm, open and welcoming reception by the community," said Outgoing Major General James Kessler.
Next week Major General Kessler will report to his new position at the Pentagon in DC. Kessler's new title is the Assistant Deputy Commandant for Facilities within installation and logistics.
