ALBANY, GA (WALB) –The Dougherty Grand jury indicts an Albany woman in the stabbing death of her boyfriend.
34-year-old Leslie Ballard was indicted on murder and four counts of cruelty to a child.
Prosecutors say she stabbed 40-year-old Anthony Hartsfield at a Cherry Avenue home June 11th while four children were present.
Investigators say Hartsfield was stabbed once with a stainless steel kitchen knife.
Ballard told a judge last month the stabbing was in self-defense. But the D.A. says evidence shows the stabbing was intentional.
