Former Georgia State House representative John White will run for Mayor of Albany. 

White becomes the fourth candidate to throw his hat in the ring. 

Dorothy Hubbard, Kirk Smith, and B. J. Fletcher are also seeking the office. 

Current Mayor Dr. Willie Adams previously announced he would not seek a third term as Mayor.

White is expected to make his official announcement Thursday evening. 

Below is the press release from Wednesday Afternoon.

Thursday July 7,  at 7: PM Supporters of former State Rep. White will gather at the Merry Acres Conference Center Located at 1500 Dawson Road to witness his Announcement statement relative to his offering to seek the Mayorship of Albany.

White said "He will make reference to what he thinks Albany is in need of and how he will attempt to accomplish certain goals for the improvement of the city and its people".

 Albany is has great talent, Great people, great Geographical location, some of the best water in the state...We need to further capitalize on and maximize our strengths.
