Bitter-sweet holiday for the champs

The city of Albany and the surrounding areas got to join in on the fun as the Panthers rode through the streets of downtown with the Presidents Cup in tow.  The parade ended at the Civic Center where the players got to the opportunity to get their last pictures with not only the trophy but their teammates as well.

Monday was final time the 2011 group met.  Players say it was special to get a chance to be with the fellas one last time and thank the community.

Larry Edwards said "We appreciate the city of Albany so much. We came out here, they had a little parade for us. We had the YFL kids out here, a lot of people came out and showed us love. We couldn't be more thankful right now that we got to tie this season off and put the icing on the cake."

Aaron Wheeler said "Everybody in the community is great.  I just want to thank the fans for supporting us the whole season. They deserve this as well as the team, the coaches and the owners."

Edwards went on to say that he's looking to come back to the team next year.
